It is sad that YOUR politicians are using our current economic crisis to get their pet projects passed. It is a spending plan that will cost your children and grandchildren their economic security. President Obama promised "CHANGE". But what is different about this stimulus package? Nothing. It is the same old stuff. Here is what YOUR politicians want to spend YOUR money on:
$50 million for the National Endowment for the Arts (What job will that get you?)
$1 billion for Amtrak, which hasn't turned a profit in 40 years (How does that help you?)
$400 million for global-warming research (I thought Al Gore said that it was a done deal. Will that get you a job?)
$2.4 billion for carbon-capture demonstration projects (Can your Senator tell you even what that is? I doubt it. They should not approve something that they cannot explain.)
$600 million more for the federal government to buy new cars
The Smithsonian is targeted to receive $150 million (Is that a job creator?)
$4 billion for community activist programs such as ACORN (What job is that? Voter registration? A few months a year? Pounding the street?)
$25 million for new ATV trails (Is this something we NEED? No. we WANT it.)
$150 million for honey bee insurance (What exactly is this? We may need honey bees, but how does this stimulate the economy?)
$20 million for fish barriers ( I have no idea what this is. A net?)
According to the Wall Street Journal, about 12 cents of every $1, is for something that can plausibly be considered a growth stimulus. That means that 82% is waste and will do nothing to help you in your struggle. Call your Senator today. http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm

Gas Prices > $4.00 / gallon
Gas is at the highest price it as ever been. So why are people still driving 80 MPH on the freeways? SLOW DOWN and stop complaining about the cost of gas. Why are you still driving the gas guzzlers? If you have 4 kids, I can understand the need for an SUV or minivan. But otherwise, it is partly your fault that gas is so high. You demand more gas, which dries up the supply ... all of which causes the price to go up. So slow down and buy a car that uses less gas.

Girl-illas

What is the matter with teenaged girls these days? To beat a "friend" senseless and videotape it for YOUtube. They do not care about right and wrong and are completely self-centered. They showed no remorse and were worried about not being able to get to cheerleading practice. What is the proper punishment for these girls? Send them to Iraq. Send them to boot camp in the Marines and then ship them off. They will learn a sense of responsibility to others and a sense of morality.
Their behavior is completely UNACCEPTABLE. And their parents are trying to defend them by saying that the victim provoked it by saying insults on MySpace. How stupid are the parents and they pass that stupidity on to their children. Never, ever is violence an acceptable response to words that one does not like. Hurt feelings is the price we as a society pay for freedom of speech. Another shameful example of the death of common sense. SHAME ON YOU GIRLS AND SHAME ON YOUR PARENTS!

Dressing like a slut or prostitute
You can't expect people to take you seriously if you dress like this. Don't complain that men treat you like a sex object. And the other women who complain about how you dress are not jealous. They are mad, because you are setting women back. Many women worked hard to be treated the same as men and to have the same opportunities. Dressing like a slut reminds men that women can be treated like sexual playthings instead of equals.
You also have to wonder what it is about the attention that you desire from dressing like a slut. It is likely from a lack of self-esteem, so you need validation from others about yourself. However, the attention that you get is not the attention you want or deserve.
If you dress like a tramp, then you should be expected to be treated like a tramp. Who is going to respect you for who you are? Displaying your body as if it were for sale, will result in people treating you as if you were for sale really cheap. Is that what you want?

Are you money smart?
I am amazed when someone who is barely getting by decides to run out and buy a brand new car. First, it is money dumb to buy a brand new car. You sign a loan to pay $20,000 for the new car. But as soon as you drive the car off of the lot, the car is worth $18,000. So you lost money. If you sold the car as soon as you drove off of the lot, you would still owe $2000. That is money DUMB!
But it is really DUMB to buy a brand new car and make payments when you are having a hard time paying your rent and other bills that you need to live. The argument that is most often made is that "I need a car to get back and forth to work, so that I can pay my bills." True, but you do not need a brand new car.
The next argument that I will save money on repairs with a new car. Really? Does the cost of higher registration and insurance payments approximate any occasional repairs that you might have to make? NO!
Common sense says buy only the car that you can afford and rarely that is a new car.

100% effective birth control
With one in four or 25% of teenage girls having a sexually transmitted disease, it is time to talk about a method of birth control that is 100% effective. It is 100% effective against sexually transmitted diseases and unwanted pregnancies. Yes folks, it is called Abstinence. Refrain from any form of sexual contact until such time as you are married. Yes, that means kissing too. You can get herpes simplex from kissing. These are also called cold sores.

You are responsible for yourself
It amazes me when people sit back and wait for someone to come rescue them from some disaster: financial, natural, or otherwise. You cannot count on the government or some other entity to come to your rescue, especially if you are poor or a minority. Just look at what happened after Katrina and compare that with the response to the wildfires in San Diego, CA.
People get mortgages that they cannot afford and turn to the government to bail them out. People have children that they cannot afford and turn to the government to pay for their children. People live with their parents or other relatives and sponge off of them. You are responsible to pay for yourself and your minor children.
How can you prepare to take care of yourself in a natural disaster?
1. Have one week's supply of food in your house at all times
2. Have 21 gallons of water per person in your house
3. Keep your car's gas tank at least 1/2 full at all times
4. Have at least $100 in small bills in your house at all times
5. Have a plan for each and every disaster that can hit your area
6. Do some research and determine what you need to do for those disasters and how to prepare
How can you take care of yourself financially?
1. Get a job, if you do not have one.
2. Get an education, if you want a better job
3. Make a budget and don't spend more money than you make
4. As part of your budget, set aside at least $10 a month in savings that you only touch in emergencies
5. Use birth control and plan when to have your children
6. Do not assume that someone else is going to pay your way, you have to pay your own way
